This spiral bound, vintage, Carson Dellosa, teacher resource book is in excellent condition, considering how long I have had it! It was given to me by a retired Title I Reading teacher. Her last name is written, in ink, on the front cover. And, there is a label on the back cover that says the folowing: The Open Ed, 3172 Main Street, Buffalo, New York, 14214, (716) 836-8064. What is nice about this book is that the game pages are printed on cardstock rather than just paper like the older Carson Dellosa teacher resource game books! So, there is no need for the extra step of mounting them on oaktag or printing them on cardstock before laminating. This item is clean and comes from a smoke free home. This teacher resource book is part of the Carson Dellosa "Stick Our Your Neck" series. It has a copyright of 1977 and consists of 104 black and white cardstock pages of learning activities that center around reading comprehension skills. At the beginning of the book, there is section titled, "Why Comprehension?" and a 3-step section on how to use the book. Next, there is a section on "Advantages of Learning Activities" and "Use of Learning Activities". Following that, there is a section on "Storage of Learning Activities" and "Organizing Learning Activities". Then, there is a section on "Teacher-Checking Versus Self-Checking". Under this are the following 2 subsections: Advantage of Teacher-Checking Learning Activities and Advantages of Self-Checking Learning Activities. Next, there is a section on "Testing For Individual Needs". The following are subsections under this: Teacher Observation, Daily Work, Pre-Testing, Skill Grouping, and Post-Testing. Following this, there is a section on "How to Incorporate Learning Activities Into the Classroom". Under this are the following subsections: Directly On Student's Desk, Stations, and Prescription Sheet. Under "Stations", there are examples of 2 charts shown. And, under "Prescription Sheet", there is a key shown to check the area on the prescription sheet. This item is rare and very hard to find! I have not seen any other spiral bound copies with cardstock pages currently selling online. As comprehension is the ultimate goal in reading, this item would make a wonderful addition to a primary classroom! The summer is always a good time to make educational games for your classroom for the following year. I know that I had very little time during the school year to do so, so I would always end up making games for my students during my summer break. I am hoping to find this resource book a good home.
